Always On My Mind

Even when I'm not stamping it always seems to be on my mind. I hate it when I get into these ruts and don't stamp for weeks or even months on end. Well today I sat down at my desk and started creating. Of course my creation is a total CASE, but it was the jumping off point I needed to just sit down and create.
 

I purchased the set "Always on My Mind" as one of my first purchases from the new Spring-Summer  catalog, trimmed it, and then it just sat. I actually have several sets that have been trimmed and never inked. Oh the humanity of it all!! That poor case of rubber just sitting there, uninked, thus unloved. Ha!! Well I finally had a chance to give "Always..." some love.

Yay me!! I love this card. I used this week's color challenge from SCS: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. And the layout of the card is pretty well CASEd from Silk Ledlow AKA Sparklegirl.

 
After this I moved on to the next card which I didn't CASE, but it's a pretty simple card. It started out pretty plain, then I used the faux tearing technique to add a little emphasis to the border. I think it really helped. So there, I stamped. Are you so proud??

Thanks to Felice and Sheryl for your sweet comments you left the other day. I love you guys!! Now keep the comments coming people!!!! It gets lonely in here when I start to feel like I'm only talking to myself.

Now I have to show what a bad friend I am. I never announced that Felice had her baby. I'm sure I told people, just not on here. I don't know where my head was. Sorry Felice!!

Here's the deets I have from Felice:

Spencer Ross Acker was born March 15th at 5pm.  Three and 1/2 weeks early.  weight 6lbs 9oz and 19 1/2 inches long.

Sounds like a pretty healthy baby for him to be a preemie. Felice, let us know how mommy and baby are doing.

Grad Card

I needed a couple of graduation gift cards so I whipped about 3 out really fast. They all look pretty much just like this one except I changed to use each kid's school colors. These are Randall's colors. Sorry about the bad pictures tonight. I didn't do any editing except to crop them.

A very basic card, but it does the job and a bill fits in it perfectly!

April Swap Share and Prize Winner

Thanks so much to the 4 ladies who participated in my April "Swap Fiends" swap. They each submitted some great cards.

I need at least 2 more players for my May swap if anyone is interested. I know it's a little late, but I had a couple ladies who couldn't participate this month. Let me know if you'd like to help me out. You can find the swap rules HERE. I would need your cards by at least the end of next week.

I used the random number generator at random.org to select my winner for the April prize. I just listed everyone's name in the order that I received their cards. And the winner is MELINDA!!! For Melinda I have a brand new roll of Chocolate Chip Poly Twill ribbon from the Occasions mini catalog.

I'm Still Around, Just Busy

Yes, I'm still here. I've just been very busy. Lennon and I took a cruise earlier this month and I spent weeks preparing for it. Losing weight, exercising, even making my own fancy gown!! I haven't stamped a thing in probably over a month.

Now I'm busy getting ready to go to Houston the first week of June for my very first CKU. I'm so excited I can't stand it!! I'm going to take classes with some of my favorite scrapbook idols like Tim Holtz, Ali Edwards, and THE Lisa Bearnson!!! Pinch me!!

I'm also working on gifts and swaps for Stampin' Up! convention in July. This is the 20th anniversary celebration for Stampin' Up! so it's going to be a blast as well.

Plus in between all that stuff my kids have started summer basketball league, so we're traveling just about every weekend with them. I've got a lot going on in the next few months, but I hope to get back to blogging at least once in a while. Right now I just don't have any projects to share. So I'm sharing a pic of Lennon and me from the cruise. You should have seen my dress. It was so pretty. I haven't sewn clothing in years so I was very pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out. I loved getting all dressed up and acting all prissy!! This was hands down the best vacation I've had in a long time.
